Golf It!

The R&A have just announced the details of an exciting new family friendly golf complex that looks to make entry to our fantastic sport, easier and more attractive than ever before. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2023, this community based golf and entertainment facility will be located on the South bank of Hogganfield Loch, on the outskirts of Glasgow and represents a significant investment by Golf's historic governing body. If at this point you are thinking this will be just another run of the mill driving range with a few nice touches, then you would be somewhat wide of the mark.

Named Golf It! this new Golf Theme Park covers a vast amount of land and will have a myriad of family friendly entertainment to keep all generations fully entertained and engaged and, whilst golf is undoubtedly the headliner, it is only a part of what this wonderful new complex will offer. Golf has experienced something of a boom post Covid and 'Golf It!' will look to embrace interest from people of all backgrounds and walks of life by offering several different kinds of introductory golf. These will include Adventure Golf, Pitch & Putt with a twist, community putting greens, a state of the art double decker driving range and a wonderful 9-hole academy golf course for all the family to hone their skills on. 

Scottsdale Golf are extremely proud to announce that we have now become the official retail partners of The R&A and as such we will have two fitting studios situated on the bottom level of the driving range. In addition, there will be an on site build centre housed inside where visitors to the centre can look on as our master craftsmen work their magic and construct clubs to customers exact specifications. Scottsdale will also have an appealing retail space on site for visitors to purchase anything they need to get them going in golf. 

There will be plenty of other captivating activities available to all on the expansive 'Golf It!' site. These include:-

• Short game area with three adventure golf courses, Park Golf pitch and putt, and a family putting green for people of all ages.

• A 55-bay floodlit double-decker Top Tracer driving range, including bespoke family bays and simulators.

• A golf equipment library with easy access to hire equipment for anyone who wants to try before they buy.

• Seven Lochs Visitor Centre with nature trails that link to Scotland’s largest urban nature park.

• Street Food by The Big Feed.

• Fit, Build, Play retail area by Scottsdale Golf.

• Three Padel tennis courts by Game4Padel.

• Early Years Nursery operated by Lullaby Lane

• A long-term education programme across Glasgow with the aim of providing in-curriculum golf experiences to 42,000 children across the city.

• A community orchard and gardens.

• Free bike access in partnership with St Paul’s Youth Forum.

Golf It! will enable people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be a part of a community-driven facility that levels the playing field and provides new pathways into golf. It marks a significant commitment by the R&A to re-establish the sport’s roots in the heart of Scotland and take golf into communities that may never have seen it as a viable, family-friendly activity before.In that regard, we want Golf It! to be an exemplar format for working hand in hand with the communities it serves. We are excited about getting the facility ready for its opening next summer.”

Golf It! has already won the backing of a range of delivery and community partners, which includes Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Golf, Golf Foundation, Active Schools Network, GEO Foundation, Toro, Acushnet, Scottish Power and Adidas.
