How to get out of Pot Bunkers

How to get out of Pot Bunkers

They are most commonly found on links courses and can be very evil indeed!

Pot bunkers can be tricky to get out of, particularly if you're close to a steep face.  In this situation, you need to get the ball up quickly otherwise you won't get it out

In order to do this, the clubhead needs to be travelling quickly through the impact area to give the shot the required height. Don't make the mistake of decelerating, even if the flag is only a few yards away.  More speed equals more quick elevation, height and more spin which is exactly what's needed if you're to get the ball close from this situation.

So don't be afraid, open up the face nice and wide, and make sure to give the sand (not the ball) a nice aggressive whack.

All that's left then is to rake the bunker, knock the sand off your shoe soles (not your ankle like we have all done in the past!) like the lads do on the telly and tap in for a cheeky up and down!
